Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server Install is killing me

WindowClipping

This is my 5th attempt at reinstall.  Different errors every time.  This error is the most ridiculous.  Of course I have a compatible version of SQL server installed.  And yes, I followed every single step of the TF Installation Guide.

I don't understand why this install has to be so painful?  Why can't you just log in with an administrative password, shove in the disk, and say go?

Ready for bed, but had to say this

clock May 16, 2008 00:17 by author nlinus

Wow.  Really, wow.

Dynamics CRM 4.0 is beyond cool.  I had one specific use in mind for this software.  I had planned to make some retail work flows available to some users.  That use alone, would have made this product worth the purchase price.

Now that I've had an opportunity to begin building work flows and customizing entities as well as some other activities.  I've discovered that this application can replace most of the tools that we currently use and even fill the needs that we don't have filled yet.

I'm very excited about the coming few months at work.

Live Mesh: My First Impressions

clock April 24, 2008 22:14 by author nlinus

I was so happy today to receive the invitation to join Live Mesh. The install was quick and easy.  That was very comforting.  I don't see a point in sharing shots of the install.  Normal everyday stuff. Installed at the office then installed at home.

At first I wasn't impressed by the live desktop thing, but when I noticed that I can right-click any folder on my machine to add it to my live mesh, I totally changed my mind.  That was way cool.

Removing sync wasn't as slick.  Infact you "Delete" the folder to remove it.

That didn't feel right.  I guess "De-Sync" maybe? hehe.

I've also played with the remote desktop feature a bit and there was some funky stuff resulting from having dual monitors at the office and a single at home, but whatever.
